i heart sloths

 

 

I have this little ornament thingie given to me by my bf around x-mas time and i hung it on my little charlie brown tree because i love sloths so dearly. I was talking about how i want to go to Costa Rica so bad just to play with sloths and have them hang allover me.

It began in high school art class where we would spend some time looking thru old National Geographics for some "inspiration" ... or just to be lazy teenagers ... and i came to a page filled to the brim with the cutest face i had ever seen. a sloth. that was it, i was in love for life.

So I guess this little guy hanging on my tree will be in a new movie called the Croods. Its really about some cavemen but i think the best thing about this movie is a sloth named Belt.

My 15 year old KC has had a trying year.
This all started around Easter last year, April.
He developed what I thought was an ear infection. It started with him scraching and flipping his right ear. Gradually over the next day he slowly developed a head tilt until the following day it RAPIDLY turned into a complete head tilt at a right angle even when standing. I took him to the vet right away, seriously he probably wouldnt have made it another two days. He was put on antibiotics immediately with an injected starter dose. It was either a severy interear infection or vestibular disease. I was told to watch him for the next 2 weeks while on the antibiotics and he will probably slowly come out of the head tilt.  Good news is he did. It took about a week and a half for him to be pretty much back to normal. I was with my family over Easter, thinking this might be the end for my little Booboo. But he made a great recovery, I thought I had dodged a bullet on that one.
He was fine, back to normal (arthritis and hip dysplasia) until September. I went thru a very sad family loss. I was very upset and distraught during that time. About 2 weeks later we notice some very unusual behavior out of nowhere. There was slime in a puddle on the floor and about 2 feet away was a pile of poo. KC NEVER poos in the house, NEVER! So it was a huge red flag. We watched him for the next 2 days closley until at 5am I was awoken and told that KC had just had a seisure. WHAT?!?! This is where our nighmare began.

What a lucky dog...

This little guy was stranded far from shore on a small rock as the tide was rising all around him. This rower spotted the dog and paddled to the rescue. Lucky dog.

This is awesome. And it is all to increase awareness about adopting shelter dogs.

Porter is a 18 month old shelter dog who has learned how to drive. Im sure he has been adopted already! And he drives better than alot of peeps in LA!

Literally all the time. I want to be out in the big boulders with the big sky and the amazing acoustics. I want to just lay on top of a huge rock, looking up, taking the time to feel the ancient stone beneath me for a while.

I made these little gingham check overalls for my twin nephews.






They are so dapper in these. The hats my sister got them set it off perfectly.






They loved looking down at their new outfits, the big and small black and white checkers had their interest and curiosity, and chewing on the big buttons (that i made sure to sew on extra secure for them) .
