Churp

There are baby birds in the bell again!
Every year they come and make their nest in this bell. I get nervous for them bcuz the bell could go off at any time, ahhh. But it never does.
It only takes a few weeks from hearing the first little churps, to seeing their little heads poke out when the mama comes with food, to flying away.
Right now the parent birdies are working very hard, bringing the babies fresh, fuzzy, plump moths, which are in abundance here right now, every 10-15 minutes. Their whole life revolves around these babies right now. Im so in love with birds at the moment, probably because they are everywhere. This tree outside has so many birds of all kinds living in it, and they fly out and dart around chasing moths and bugs through the air. Its really fun to watch.
I dont think its a sparrow, not a wren, hmmm, maybe a wren but they are all brown without the white breast. I have never studied birds and their names before. These are the most common birds here becides pigeons and I should know this, I always just call them nerdbirds. Perhaps I should ask the Echo Park Ornithology Club and find out.

5 years

Like, Woah!

That went by fast.

Wizard

I went and geeked out at Wizard.

It was my first time.

The R2D2 units were awsome, they were totally interactive. They were waving "Hi" and dancing and bleeping and spraying water at us. There were lots of people dressed up too, there were alot of storm troopers, darth vader, jawa, lea, etc...

I love Star Wars (like everyone else). When I was little my mom had the trilogy on tape, yes tape, and I watched them so many times that I wore out Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi twice!

Legos galore!

Probably the best part...

Meeting David Reddick!

Have I mentioned that I love Garfield?
Honestly, Garfield was the ONLY comic strip I ever read. As a kid I would collect all of the books as they came out and read only the Garfield comic strip in the newspaper. I used to laugh and laugh especially when Garfield would mess with dumb ol Odie. His sarcastic humor is after my own heart.
I never read any others, AND I really hated Heathcliff, I always thought he was a cheap knock off of Garfield (i was wrong) and I didnt find him funny at all.
After learning from Jim Davis, David is now drawing and writing the Garfield comics among many others. He was saying something really great in this pic.

Now I really want to go to Comic-con!

Early easter - late

Easter was early this year...March 23rd, Im a little late posting...
This year is the earliest Easter
any of us will ever see the rest of our lives!
The next time Easter will be this early will be the year
2228 (220 years from now). The last time it was this early was 1913. I know someone who's grandmother remembers.
The next time it will be a day earlier, March 22, will be in the year
2285 (277 years from now). The last time it was on March 22 was 1818.

So, no one alive today has or will ever see it any earlier than this
year 2008.
I thought that was interesting.

My sister is very crafty in the kitchen and made lots of goodies, I helped a little.

I made braided fabric garlands.

My mom's kitty Cleo got out one nite and poof, little baby kitties. 4 days old here.

The beautiful lemon tree in the yard is overflowing with yummy-ness. I love lemons! I like them plain, with sugar, in water, mmmm- so I took a huge bag home with me.

No aliens in Paris

Isnt Paris GREAT! I love how they will demo for anything. Americans, hmmm... "In an Idiots paradise the people think im crazy, Id sign up for a revolution but my people are too lazy"-sole.

"On 10th February 2008, members of ANONYMOUS descended on the ironically named Hubbard Academy of Personal Independence. Around 150 masked protestors marked the occasion of Scientology victim Lisa MacPherson's birthday by gathering outside the cult's headquarters, and handing out leaflets to passers by." from here...

Love the Guy Fawkes masks.

Project Chanology is the large scale plan to bring down scientology, sorry Tom.

Im all for it. This is awsome....

and hilarious.

chucks

Launching new line of Curt Cobain snaeakers. They look pretty cool, and the drawing and writing is from his journals.

I dont know whether the think that these are awsome or if Courtney Love has really gone too far. Read more...
I do really like the idea of the Hunter S. Thompson ones though, I will definately rock those.

Ralph + Oil Cloth

I love that Ralph Laurens Spring dresses are fully inspited by vintage oil cloth tablecloths. Mine is the blue one at the bottom. I put blue rik rak around the edges to make it super hokey. WACKO has a good selection of colors and designs.
I love all of the big bright florals for spring. And neon is back in a big way, um, circa 1989. I had neon slinky bracelets, jelly shoes, scrunchies and i was also in junior high so...
