Gingham Overalls

I made these little gingham check overalls for my twin nephews.

They are so dapper in these. The hats my sister got them set it off perfectly.

They loved looking down at their new outfits, the big and small black and white checkers had their interest and curiosity, and chewing on the big buttons (that i made sure to sew on extra secure for them) .

Go International at Target

So I learned my lesson from my previous Target designer launch and went early so i wouldn't miss out. OK, I showed up before the store even opened and waited outside for about 10 minutes. There were surprisingly few people (or psychos like me) lining up outside. I grabbed all the the dresses that i had cyber-stalked and scurried into the dressing room. I was so disappointed that the pale pink Rodarte dress that was my #1 pick looked like complete shit on me. Great on the hanger, crap on me. It totally washed me out and hung all wrong. Oh well. I got the Thakoon one that is incredible and i grabbed the pink and orange Tracy Evans number.
Overall satisfied.
But the end of my shopping adventure there were bunches of girls in the dressing room and we were all comparing fit and style, you know..."This one looks like shit on me but looks great on you, etc etc. What fun.

Giant Pink Bunny

I was looking at google earth images after the tsunami in Japan and came across this giant pink bunny in the Alps. I can't believe i havent see this before. It was hand knitted by a group of artists called Gelitin. So dope. I love the giant gaping mouth, i would love to jump inside. I would love to walk along the legs and lay on it's huge tummy. It is expected to be on the Italian mountian top until 2025 so who know, maybe i will get my chance!

BTW: this is funny

Absinthe

I was at Church and State on friday for lunch and i noticed they have an "absinthe ritual" posted on their bar pilar so i had to ask as i was leaving do they actually serve absinthe or was it kind of a joke? He said yes, we serve it! I said OK, i'll be back later...
I have never tried it since it has been illegal in the u.s. since 1915 and just became legal again around 2007. I love all of the old imagery making it look like the devil in a bottle.

And ofcourse Degas' L'Absinthe.

BTW: If your at Church and State you must try their Tarte Flambée, delicious!

My Amy Butler-ish Pouf

I used approx 4 trash bags full of shreaded bills! to fill my pouf. I added a layer if quilt batting and another muslin inner lining layer to sandwich the batting in the center. That way since i knew i was using shreaded paper it would still be soft and fluffy to sit on, and it is! Also I put a zipper in on the bottom. That way if my pouf starts going flat i can just shread some more bills and stuff away.

Nick Swardson's Pretend Time

Are you F-ing kidding me?
My favorite comedian right now is going to have his own show!!! And its about time. Yes, we all know him as Terry on Reno 911, but i truly fell in love with all that is Nick after watching Grandma's Boy for the first time a like 4 years ago .
People are FINALLY catching on to how fucking hilarious he is.
I LOVE this guy...
He is so GAY and RETARDED.

Check out NICK SWARDSON'S PRETEND TIME on Tuesday at 10pm on comedy central.

Natalie Portman on SNL

This is my absolute favorite SNL episode. Its not new but they re-play it all the time on Comedy Central and I HAVE to watch the whole episode when it comes on.

I love the Jamba Juice sketch, its funny as hell. And ofcourse the Natalie Portman Rap...

"When I was in Harvard

I smoked weed every day

I cheated every test

and snorted all the yay"

But for me the best part of that episode is The Art Dealers.

Nunni brings Jeff home to meet her parents. Jeff is worried that her parents won’t like him, but Nunni assures him that they like all her boyfriends.
Nunni’s mother, Nuni, and her father, Noony, emerge into the living room after eating raw bacon and point to a pile of hair for Jeff to sit on, the guerilla chair. The parents butcher the boyfriends name: Gerf, Guarf, Jerfa. And after some small talk, Tato comes out with some treats for everyone: melted ice cream blown into their mouths from a tube in flavors such as beets and capers, and banana and clam.

Wizard

I went and geeked out at Wizard.

It was my first time.

The R2D2 units were awsome, they were totally interactive. They were waving "Hi" and dancing and bleeping and spraying water at us. There were lots of people dressed up too, there were alot of storm troopers, darth vader, jawa, lea, etc...

I love Star Wars (like everyone else). When I was little my mom had the trilogy on tape, yes tape, and I watched them so many times that I wore out Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi twice!

Legos galore!

Probably the best part...

Meeting David Reddick!

Have I mentioned that I love Garfield?
Honestly, Garfield was the ONLY comic strip I ever read. As a kid I would collect all of the books as they came out and read only the Garfield comic strip in the newspaper. I used to laugh and laugh especially when Garfield would mess with dumb ol Odie. His sarcastic humor is after my own heart.
I never read any others, AND I really hated Heathcliff, I always thought he was a cheap knock off of Garfield (i was wrong) and I didnt find him funny at all.
After learning from Jim Davis, David is now drawing and writing the Garfield comics among many others. He was saying something really great in this pic.

Now I really want to go to Comic-con!
